Instructor’s Biography

  • Asghar Karim (M. Sc, P. Geo.)  is a seasoned geoscientist with over 25 years in the field, primarily as a wellsite geologist, with additional expertise spanning multiple geoscience disciplines,management, business development, operations, negotiation, communication, and marketing.  
  • With extensive experience, he is skilled in designing and executing goal-oriented initiatives that align with international standards, expertly managing risks, challenges, and financial considerations to achieve optimal results.
  • The instructor has managed the drilling of more than 300 wells across various plays in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, covering both exploration and development projects for conventional and unconventional heavy oil. His oversight included coring, vertical, directional, and horizontal wells. 
  • He has a wealth of experience in presentations and has delivered talks on a wide range of geological topics.
